Flying Ravana Zipline in Ella: Limits, Weather and Is It Worth It?
Updated October 28, 2026 · 4 min read
Flying Ravana is worth considering for one concentrated thrill, not as a substitute for a hike. The official site describes a twin line more than half a kilometre long, with speeds of up to 80 km/h. The booked activity itself is listed as 20 minutes, but check-in, briefing and waiting make the visit longer.
Who can ride?
The operator currently states a minimum age of 6, minimum weight of 30 kg and minimum height of 90 cm. It lists a maximum weight of 100 kg and maximum height of 195 cm. All limits apply together: a child who is old enough but under the weight threshold cannot ride. Confirm them again before booking, because equipment rules can change.
The operator also excludes pregnancy, intoxication and medical conditions that may affect participation. If you are unsure whether a condition is relevant, ask the operator rather than relying on a travel article.
Weather and clothing
In heavy rain or thunderstorms, expect delays or cancellation and ask the operator which rule applies. A dry morning is a better plan than squeezing the ride between fixed transfers. Wear secure clothing, tie back long hair and avoid loose garments, skirts and dresses.
The Flying Ravana zipline experience starts at €42.47. The listing includes the short zipline activity; check the cancellation terms and whether your chosen time is an entry slot or the actual ride time.
Combine it sensibly
The launch area is near the Little Adam’s Peak side of Ella, so the two fit naturally into the same half-day. Hike first if the sky is clear, then ride; reverse the order only if your booked slot demands it. Do not add Ella Rock on the same short schedule.
Skip the zipline if the limits are close, thunderstorms threaten or you mainly want quiet scenery. Book it if a brief, controlled adventure is the point and the price feels reasonable for a single ride rather than a full excursion.
